WEBINAR 3: Leading the VET Center in Terms of Green Transition
21 January 2026 | 12:30–14:00 (UTC+3)

Our third IMPROVET-AM webinar focused on leading VET centres through the green transition, bringing together VET managers and educators to explore how sustainability can become a natural part of institutional life. After a brief introduction to the IMPROVET-AM project and the objectives of the webinar series, participants were welcomed by our guest expert Silke Becker from WISAMAR (Germany), coordinator of the Green VET Pathway project.
Silke introduced the concept of a whole-institution approach to sustainability, highlighting how green transformation in VET goes beyond classroom teaching. From school culture and management practices to partnerships, infrastructure, and student engagement, participants discovered how sustainability can be embedded across all dimensions of a VET institution. Practical examples from European VET schools illustrated how small and large actions alike — from reducing food and plastic waste to creating greener learning environments — can make a meaningful impact.
The session was highly interactive. Participants explored a catalogue of best practices and worked in groups to reflect on which initiatives could realistically be adapted in their own institutions. Discussions showed strong interest in concrete, achievable steps that can motivate both staff and learners, while also strengthening the role of VET centres as responsible community actors.
By the end of the webinar, participants had not only gained inspiration and practical tools, but also a clearer vision of how green leadership can drive positive change in their schools — step by step, and together. Special thanks to Silke Becker and the Green VET Pathway team at WISAMAR for sharing their expertise, practical resources, and inspiring examples with our community.
